The obligation

Many UAE entities are required to prepare audited financial statements. Most free zones require audited accounts for licence renewal, mainland companies must maintain them under the Commercial Companies Law, and the Corporate Tax Law requires audited financial statements where revenue exceeds AED 50 million in a tax period and for Qualifying Free Zone Persons. The audit itself must be carried out by an auditor licensed by the Ministry of Economy and approved by the relevant authority.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered plainly.

01
Does my company need an audit?
It depends on where and how you are registered. Most free zones require audited financial statements for licence renewal, and the Corporate Tax Law requires them above certain revenue levels and for Qualifying Free Zone Persons. We confirm the obligation that applies to you.
02
Does MHBC carry out the audit?
No. The audit is performed by an auditor licensed by the Ministry of Economy and approved by the relevant authority. MHBC prepares you for it, appoints and coordinates the auditor, and remains your single point of contact throughout.
03
When are audited accounts due?
Most free zones require submission within a set period after the financial year-end, often within 180 days and in time for licence renewal. We track the date that applies to you.
